For puppies 10-20 weeks old
Get your puppy off to the best start in life with our All Things Puppy class! Designed for puppies between 10 and 20 weeks of age, this 4-week class focuses on the crucial early stages of puppy socialization and basic training. You’ll learn how to address common puppy challenges like:
- Potty training
- Crate training
- Nipping and chewing
- Jumping and running off
Your puppy will also begin learning foundational obedience behaviors such as sit, settle, attention focus, walking on leash, and coming when called, laying the groundwork for future training in our Beginner Basics class.
Note: For the safety of all puppies, those entering the training facility must have at least two rounds of Distemper/Parvo vaccinations and one Bordetella (kennel cough) inoculation. (Rabies is not required until 4 months of age). Proof of up to date vaccinations are required at the first class.

Beginner Basics Training
6-Week Class | $175
Dogs must be 5 months of age or older at the start of the class.
NOTE: Dogs MUST be current on Bordetella (kennel cough), Distemper/Parvo & Rabies vaccinations to be in this class. Vet records must be shown at the first class.
This class emphasizes better owner-dog communication through hand signals, verbal cues, and clickers as we train attention focus skills, sit, down, come when called, leave it / drop it, loose leash walking, and the introduction to stay. Weekly review exercises, training materials, and practice assignments help owners stay on track both at home and away as their dogs learn manners are for everywhere! This class also covers how to correct undesirable behaviors such as jumping, rushing the doorbell, and running off. Weekly practice handouts and support videos ensure success. Graduation includes a certificate for achievements well done!

Beyond The Basics
5-Week Class | $145
This class is for dogs who have completed their Beginner Basics manners and obedience program.
NOTE: Dogs MUST be current on Bordetella (kennel cough), Distemper/Parvo & Rabies vaccinations (if age applicable) to enter the training facility. Vet records must be shown at the first class.
We call this class “Beyond the Basics” because it takes dogs’ training to new levels. Prepare to be amazed as your dog masters the art of reliable recalls past food and toys, stays with distance, distractions and duration, park it (place), heeling, wait, take it, and so much more. “Beyond the Basics” intermediate-level classes are open to handlers whose dogs have completed “Beginner Basics,” work well around other dogs, and are ready to continue their education with impressive new skills. This is the class that gives people a well-behaved dog outside the house and everywhere they go!

Advanced Obedience

Advanced Obedience is the step after our Beyond the Basics Intermediate class. This is designed to take what your dog has learned through our previous classes to the next level. We will continue to advance your dog’s stays, Heels, Recalls, and Park Its through enhanced distractions and farther distances. We will also be teaching new skills such as an Emergency Stop, Back, and different positions such as Side, In-Between, and Behind Me.

Quick Tricks Class

“Dog’s Got Talent!” Of course they do, and this is the class to bring it out. Prepare to laugh and be entertained as you teach your pup how to be a star in the spotlight. Whether it’s Bow, Roll Over, Spin/Unwind, Say Your Prayers or weaves through legs, there’s no limit to what your dog can learn. Therapy Dog Class
6-Week Class | $200
Puppies must be at least one year old.
NOTE: Dogs MUST be current on Bordetella (kennel cough), Distemper/Parvo & Rabies vaccinations (if age applicable) to enter the training facility. Vet records must be shown at the first class.
In this 6-week course, students will be taught all-important social and behavioral aspects of training a therapy dog. Skills covered will include:
Body language & non-verbal commands
Advanced Obedience Skills
Managing unexpected occurrences & difficulties
Dealing with distractions
Meeting strangers, children, physically-challenged & elderly
Working around equipment such as walkers, canes, wheelchairs, etc.
Handler / therapy dog team interaction with patients, children, etc.
Each class will last approximately 75 minutes. Dogs will be tested according to the standards of national therapy dog organization of choice (ADT, Canines for Christ, or Love on a Leash).
PREREQUISITES: All dogs accepted for this class must be at least one (1) year old and be current on all vaccinations, including bordetella, distemper/parvo and rabies. For their assessment evaluation, each dog must demonstrate ability to sit, stay, lie down, be calm, greet strangers, work around other dogs, and walk nicely on a leash. Participating dogs must have stable temperament, enjoy meeting people, be comfortable around children, strangers and other dogs.

Feisty Fido
4-Week Class | $150
To participate in this class, you must be an existing EBDS client or complete at least one private session. Click HERE to schedule your private. Once you have your private session scheduled, be sure to register for your desired class by clicking the class date below.

Is your dog reactive? Does it dog bark, lunge or growl at other dogs on leash? This four week class is limited to 4 dogs, and provides the skills, guidance, and practice you need to eliminate these unwanted behaviors. Through counter-conditioning and desensitization, this class works to change your dog’s Conditioned Emotional Response (CER) from a negative one to a positive one. No more walking late at night to avoid dogs. No more apologizing for your dog’s behavior. This class will provide the foundation for you to have the dog you’ve always wanted!

What’s required to register for group classes?
All puppies and dogs enrolling in classes at East Bay Dog Spot must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including distemper/parvo, bordetella (kennel cough) and rabies, if applicable.
No dog can be admitted into the training center without proof of current vaccinations! – please check vet records before attending your first class.
Is my dog too old for training?
Absolutely not! We’ve had dogs as old as 12 come through training. Our methods work for dogs of all ages, young and old.
